It's not a huge area, but at the end is a cracked Void egg where the Knight can see his reflection in the shell. The Charm costs a whopping five Notches to equip, meaning players must make sure they have their route well planned out as they'll be sacrificing other Charms. Obtaining the Kingsoul will unlock access to an area called the Birthplace located at the very bottom of the Abyss. The item must be equipped for the way to open. This is obtained by collecting 1,800 Essence, which will likely require players to get good at killing Dream bosses. The Pale King's body is found in the hidden White Palace, a platforming challenge that can only be accessed with the Awoken Dream Nail. The White Lady is found in the top left of the Queen's Gardens and requires most abilities to reach. The two monarchs, the Pale King and White Lady, each hold a piece. Unlike other Charms, the Kingsoul is split into two parts. To obtain this ending, players will need to find another item before they can get to the Void Heart hidden deep within Hallownest: the Kingsoul.
This allows him to enter the Dream and defeat the Radiance with the help of the Void.
The most basic ending has him simply taking its place, however, if the Knight has the Void Heart, he can become one with it. In certain endings, the Knight becomes the new vessel. The Radiance and Void are opposite entities. Throughout the game, players learn the fall of the Kingdom came from the Infection of the Radiance. It was sealed away within a chosen vessel who was born filled with Void, and supposedly emptiness, to contain it. The Void Heart is one of the many Charms found throughout Hollow Knight, although this one can be tricky to acquire without really paying attention to Hallownest's lore.
